When Shelby first reached out to me about photographing her wedding, she had a completely different venue booked in Columbia, SC where I am based. Her and Karson quickly realized that that route was not meant for them and that they wanted to get married closer to where they are based in NC. So, they booked a big barn venue for the same date. After that, she still didn’t have peace in the planning process so we shifted again and they ended up renting a gorgeous house on the beach on Oak Island, and had their ceremony in a beautiful, traditional Episcopal church in downtown Wilmington.

It was a stunning day with one of the most stunning sunsets I had ever seen in my years and years of photographing wedding days. Shelby’s choice of a stunning custom blusher veil and mismatched bridesmaids dresses stole the show!! She also included details like a handwritten note and personalized gift for each of her guests, including Bryce and I. It will always be one of my most favorite days.
